Hi friends! I am Izzi, the owner and main gal behind the lens of Mielrosse Photography. Photography has always been a passion of mine. If you’ve been following me or my work for a while, you might have known me as With Love Photography by Izzi Mielke—a mouthful, I know! The year 2021 brought a lot of fresh starts for me, so I thought this was the perfect time to completely rebrand!

So why go from With Love Photography to Mielrosse Photography? In October 2020, I married my best friend, Nathan. Before the big day, we had many long talks about what we were going to do about our last names. Nathan thought it was important for us to share a name, but I wasn’t sure if I wanted to take his. My mother suggested we create a brand new name from both of our surnames. We took my last name: Mielke (like milk), and his: Grosse (like gross), and created Mielrosse!

Past

A nod to our roots and family history

Present

A representation of us working together to solve issues

Future

A sign of creating something completely our own

I couldn’t imagine this sentiment translating better to my photography business. That brings us here to Mielrosse Photography! Our partnership provides Nathan the opportunity to take on quite a bit with the business, allowing me to spend more time expressing my artistry through photography—although you may see him behind a camera helping me capture all your special moments on occasion!

Mielrosse Photography has one simple goal: to capture memorable moments with love. Every time the shutter clicks on my camera, your special moment is immortalized and ready to be looked back on fondly for years to come. I strive to capture your life-changing moments, amazing times, belly laughs with family and friends, and warm fuzzy feelings as we celebrate you on your special day.

our promise

  • I love to dance. Being on stage gives me such an amazing rush of adrenaline. My favorite kinds of dance are modern, swing, ballet, contemporary, and partnering. Dance has been a large and important part of my life—I even met my husband in our college dance company!

  • I love cats, maybe a little too much. They are hands-down my favorite creatures, but of course, I love all animals! Nathan and I have four fur babies: Mia, Binx, Winnie, and Petunia. It’s a full house!

  • Movies are a huge part of my life. Growing up, my family would always watch movies whenever we could. I’m probably one of the few people who still loves buying DVDs today. Name any cheesy disaster movie, and chances are I probably own it. You can bet I’ve seen Twister and San Andreas about 1,000 times!

  • I’m definitely a proud nerd! Marvel, Lord of the Rings, classic board games, Doctor Who, and, of course, Harry Potter will always be something I am down to watch, read, or talk about! Harry Potter might take the cake as my main nerd fandom. Where are my Hufflepuffs at?!

  • I love to travel. I’ve visited three continents, and even lived in Scotland for four months. I am always up for adventures and will take any excuse to travel this amazing world in which we live. My dream would be to photograph an international wedding. For our honeymoon, my husband and I went on a huge month-long road trip across the Pacific Northwest, camping and sleeping in our pickup truck.

  • Sometimes I think I was born in the wrong decade. I am so fascinated with past times. The 40’s and 50’s are definite inspirations, not only in my everyday life but also in my photography. I have a small collection of vintage clothing and use any excuse to wear them!

  • Coffee is the main reason I function well as a human being. Without my daily fix of caffeine, life just seems like such a chore.

  • Both my husband and I love nature, which is why I love outdoor photography so much. Our yard is overflowing with flowers, trees, bushes, and an enormous vegetable garden that keeps us busy throughout the year.
